Deadline reports Majors has signed on to play a major villain character in the third Ant-Man movie.

Majors, who now plays Atticus Freeman on the Lovecraft Country TV adaptation, is also known for roles in movies like The Last Black Man in San Francisco and Da 5 Bloods.

It looks like it could be Kang the Conquerer, the time-traveling villain who has been a thorn in the side of Marvel Comics' Avengers for decades.

However the new slate has a 28.6Wh battery compared to the 30.8Wh pack on last year's model, suggesting 8% lower power draw. Packed inside the device is Apple's latest iteration of its custom silicon, the all-new A14 Bionic processor.

Shortly before the Kang news broke, a rumor surfaced claiming that Ant-Man 3 will be shot on the same soundstages as the James Bond and Star Wars films, with "massive action sequences" planned for the threequel.

Fresh off his turns in Da 5 Bloods and Lovecraft Country, Jonathan Majors is looking to make an even bigger splash in Hollywood. Marvel Studios' head Kevin Feige will produce, while Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly will make their return, having last been seen in the huge battle that came at the end of Avengers: Endgame in 2019. You could certainly use Kang just once, but given his stature in Marvel lore, he seems much more likely to become a villain on par with Thanos.

What's particularly interesting about Kang joining Ant-Man 3 is that he made his first appearance in the Fantastic Four comics, and the FF also happened to be rumored for Ant-Man 3.
