Chelsea signing Kai Havertz admitted that Frank Lampard is a key reason why he signed for the club.

Chelsea must have noticed it when the 27-year-old caused all sorts of problems for the Chelsea defence when they played against Ajax in the Champions League last season - it's pretty obvious.

After costs ₤ 200m on brand-new gamers this summertime, Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard was just able to offer launchings to 2 versus Brighton - Havertz and Timo Werner.

"I was dreaming as a kid to play in the Premier League and to play for Chelsea as well because for me Chelsea is a very big club and one of the best in the world", he began.

Gary Neville claimed Loftus-Cheek could have wasted his chances at Chelsea, tipping the Blues to "cash in" by selling the 24-year-old. Maybe I could fit in other teams but, in the end, I decided Chelsea because it was the best decisions I could take.

EVERTON manager Carlo Ancelotti has told his young players to be patient as they wait for a Premier League game. He can give me tips and I think he will help me a lot to become a better football player, a better midfield player, so I am very excited that he is my manager now'. "It is very different than before and that takes some weeks to adapt to, but I am looking forward to it", he added.

The former Bayer Leverkusen sweetheart professed his admiration for Lampard growing up as an aspiring professional.

Because I loved to play for Leipzig and everything was well for me there so it was really important for me to come to a team with a vision that fits my style of football.

"He was also like the way I play as a midfielder - to go in the box, score goals and make assists".

Havertz, similarly to Lampard in his prime, favours playing in the number ten role but can also operate in the number eight role.

"I played as a right-winger, as a No.10, as a No.6, No.8 and sometimes as a striker as well".

"Those are the things that I like to do".

"And I think if there is harsh criticism of him in the game against Brighton then it is certainly very harsh".

'I am focused trying to play my best football here in Chelsea and not put pressure on myself.

Havertz signed for Chelsea in a deal worth £71 million but has insisted that the price tag will not hinder his performances.

"Of course, it's a big price tag, but I think in football today it is normal to pay these prices", he stated throughout an interview on Thursday.

"I just reiterate what Jurgen Klopp said on his part".
