"I write these words from a play of hopelessness, to honor a man who had great hope", wrote Nyong'o.

Nyong'o remembered working with Boseman on 2018's blockbuster "Black Panther", describing that she was "struck by his quiet, powerful presence". Chadwick was one of those people. You have the feeling he was totally current and somehow completely conscious of matters from the remote future. He showed up to every rehearsal and training and shoot day with his game face on. His big hands will descend onto my waist and give them a squeeze which relieved me of those anxieties I didn't realize I had been holding.

Nyong'o accompanied her words with a hashtag inspired by the words of Boseman's wife Simone: #TakeYourTimeButDon'tWasteYourTime. He managed to provide a superhero for young black kids everywhere, and he had also helped tell the stories of real-life heroes like Jackie Robinson.
