T-Mobile launches $10.7B initiative to get more underserved students online for remote learning

T-Mobile announced this week that the company will invest $10.7 billion in the new "Project 10Million", which aims to provide free internet access to millions of students in the United States. What was a homework gap has turned into an even more massive schoolwork gap, when students without internet access are completely left out of learning. The wireless carrier will also offer school districts low-priced options to increased monthly data plans so students can stay connected to their schools during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company said that once an application is approved (which can take mere hours), the school can give each student a free hotspot and 100GB of data over a year, or around 8GB per month. Your student must be enrolled in the National School Lunch Program to qualify. School districts can apply for a grant, sharing only student ZIP codes so that T-Mobile can confirm service availability.

When you stick to music, you can get left alone. "When you dabble in politics, you will get called out for platforming ignorance". I literally hired a private investigator, and serve them with a warrant and arrest this boy.

The project is meant to narrow the gap in internet accessibility as 50 million students are forced to learn online during the COVID-19 pandemic and more than nine million students are unable to connect at home. "It wasn't just about connectivity before and after school and correspondence with their teacher via email", T-Mobile CEO Mike Katz told CNET. T-Mobile is also continuing to work with the California Department of Education and Apple to get another 1 million students ready to start school virtually. With its 5G deployment continuing rapidly and further improvements to areas already covered with 2.5GHz spectrum and 5G SA, T-Mobile should be able to keep improving coverage and speed nationwide.
