Former national security adviser John Bolton is denying the claim that President Donald Trump disparaged American soldiers killed in France.

President Donald Trump rejects reports that he had mocked fallen USA soldiers, in a Labor Day news conference. In a wide-ranging, often meandering press conference on Monday, Trump said that the troops love him, but that top officials at the Pentagon probably don't because he's not keeping us at war.

However, he added, "The top people in the Pentagon probably aren't because they want to do nothing but fight wars so all of those wonderful companies that make the bombs and make the planes and make everything else stay happy".

"But we're getting out of the endless wars".

Mr Trump had until July refused to wear a face covering, despite the USA being the worst hit country in the world in terms of coronavirus deaths and infections.

California Fire Which Destroyed 28 Km Started From Gender Reveal Party Firework
The fire moved 15 miles (24 kilometers) in a single day and burned 56 square miles (145.04 square kilometers). The fire spread quickly from that part toward the town, and resulted in evacuations of residents in its path.

Once he had finished pressuring Reuters White House correspondent Jeff Mason to remove his mask while asking a question, Donald Trump launched into an approximately five-minute riff Monday afternoon on why he just couldn't make it to the Aisne-Marne cemetery in November 2018 to honor fallen USA service members. "Who would say a thing like that?"

Also on Monday, Vice President Mike Pence visited Wisconsin and told those in attendance at the Dairyland Power Cooperative that the Trump administration has not only rebuilt the economy but he claimed that, due to his and Trump's leadership, "America is respected in the world again".

"I don't know who told the author that, but that was false".

"That is why we, veterans from every generation, are writing today to reaffirm our support for President Trump".

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden called on the president to apologize for his reported remarks. "The soldiers are", Trump said. Only about half the 22 million jobs that vanished in the pandemic have been recovered.
