Australia's Qantas Airways is offering a sightseeing flight for travelers eager to take to the skies at a time when many planes are grounded.

Qantas is tagging the scenic flight as "border-free".

Next month, the Australian airline will operate a special seven-hour scenic joy flight that will soar across the Northern Territory, Queensland and New South Wales to cater for frequent flyer members desperate to experience life at 38,000 feet. Its 134 tickets, spanning business class, premium economy and economy, ranging from AUD$787 to $3,787 (Rs 42,244.90 to Rs 2,03,280.10) were reportedly booked in just 10 minutes. Passengers are set to travel on a wide-body Boeing 787, normally used for long-distance worldwide travel, according to Fox News.

The flag-carrier will next month offer a seven-hour trip around the country, taking off from and returning to Sydney Domestic Airport.

Keen fliers will be able to see famous Aussie attractions including Sydney Harbour and the Great Barrier Reef from above. The jet will do a low flyover over certain landmarks, including Uluru and Bondi Beach. They had promised special entertainment onboard the flight too, which included a surprise celebrity host.

The flight comes as most global Qantas departures remained grounded as Australia battles the Covid-19 pandemic.

Exclusive opportunity to participate in a live auction of original and limited Qantas 747 memorabilia as well as 787 Flight Simulator sessions. For some reason, within 10 minutes of tickets going on sale, the whole flight was sold out.

If the leaked price of the handset turns to be true, then it will be the most affordable handset with 65W fast charging. Realme UI 2.0 will be officially unveiled on September 21 along with Realme Narzo 20 series of smartphones in India.

Notably, the concept of flights for sightseeing is not new.

"It's probably the fastest selling flight in Qantas history", the airline's CEO, Alan Joyce, said in a statement. "The health response to this crisis is our most important priority".

The airline's revelation about global services suggests Australia will not open to visitors for the rest of this year nor the first half of 2021. Such flights have already taken place in Taiwan and Japan, while Singapore's national carrier said Sunday it was considering one, as well.

"Australia is a great land and home to unique wonders like Uluru and the Whitsundays, so we know that it will be truly special to experience this handsome country from the comfort and freedom of the sky", adds Mr Joyce. Passengers are invited to pay upwards of A$1,199 (£656) for a 13-hour flight to the frozen continent and back.

Most of the journey takes place over the sea, and about a third of it is spent over Antarctica.

The saying "there's nowhere to go but up" just got a lot more real. Qantas is one of few airlines with continued access to long term, unsecured bond markets.
