Prosecutors allege that Silento, whose legal name is Richard Lamar Hawk, walked into an unlocked stranger's home in the Valley Village area of Los Angeles and swung a hatchet at the two people inside before one of them disarmed him.

Silentó, a rapper known for his hit "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)", is facing two felony assault charges after allegedly threatening two people with a hatchet, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said Thursday. The residents and their children were said to be home, but nobody was injured.

The rapper reportedly entered a home swinging around an axe. He was taken into custody and later released on a charge of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant.

As it stands, Silento is still in jail and his bail is being set at $105,000.

The 22-year-old Atlanta rapper and singer had a major hit in 2015 with "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)".

Silento was arrested about a block away from the home and charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

An arraignment for the rapper is scheduled for Friday.

While "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)" was a huge single for Hawk, he never hit the charts at that same level again despite being an innovator in the now-common trend of viral dance videos and such.

XXL has reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department, the Santa Ana Police Department and the Orange County Police Department for a comment on this matter.
