Staff member at Brampton elementary school tests positive for COVID-19

The Peel District School Board now has a second staff member who has contracted COVID-19.

Due to privacy legislation, the names of the individuals is protected and PDSB will not be releasing them.

When school opens next week, if a student or teacher tests positive, only people considered to have been in close contact with the person will be directly contacted by health officials, said Dr. Monica Hau, associate medical officer of health, during a presentation to the PDSB on September 1.

The positive case at Ross Drive Public School was confirmed in a letter sent to parents by Principal Greg Harris.

Health officials will contact those in close contact with the person directly.
