‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Debuts New Trailer, Logo During Star Trek Day Celebration

That has happened before in Star Trek: Discovery so it's not entirely surprising to see, but given those characters are also a substantial part of the fun of the show, it's awesome to see they'll still get a fair amount of attention. As the new trailer reveals, however, Burnham and the Discovery crew learn the Federation is a shadow of its former self, ravaged by something Book ominously calls "the burn", when "the galaxy took a hard left".

Today is CBS All Access' virtual Star Trek Day celebration, and the new trailer for the third season of Star Trek: Discovery was unveiled during the series' panel earlier today.

What do you think about the new Discovery trailer and poster? Will they be able to shake off the time travel wooziness and restore some hope in the face of this odd new world? CBS All Access has announced that two new characters are joining the cast for season three, and will be the franchise's first explicitly nonbinary and transgender characters.

Ontario records close to 200 new COVID-19 cases
Christine Elliott, Ontario's Minister of Health, made the announcement during a press conference on Tuesday. The province recorded 375 new COVID-19 cases over the previous two-day period.

Sonequa Martin-Green returns as Commander Michael Burnham, Doug Jones is back as Commander Saru, Anthony Rapp reprises his role as Lt. Commander Paul Stamets, Mary Wiseman once again plays Ensign Sylvia Tilly, Wilson Cruz suits up again as Dr. Hugh Culber, and Michelle Yeoh returns as Philippa Georgiou. Including David Ajala's mysterious Book, who looks like he'll become very close to the Discovery crew.

The crew of the Discovery made a bad sacrifice at the end of season two, leaving their lives as they knew them behind and flinging the ship 930 years into the future, where the Federation is in some dire straits of its own (again). "Now living in a time filled with uncertainty, the U.S.S. Discovery crew, along with the help of some new friends, must together fight to regain a hopeful future".

The first trailer for Star Trek: Discovery season 3 is here.
