Most of local positions would be based at CVS Health's Mt. Prospect hub.

USA pharmacy chain CVS Health Corp on Monday said it will hire 15,000 employees in the fourth quarter of this year as the onset of winter could fuel a resurgence in the spread of COVID-19 and flu cases.

The healthcare giant is hiring more than 10,000 full- and part-time pharmacy technicians in Q4 in anticipation of flu season, and urging for them to have an expanded scope of practice that would allow them to vaccinate patients for the novel coronavirus under supervision from an immunization-certified pharmacist. Numerous positions are temporary, with the possibility of becoming permanent.

Along with helping with vaccinations, technicians help with COVID-19 testing, processing prescriptions, dispensing medications, providing information to customers and performing administrative tasks.

"Additional team members typically are needed every flu season", Lisa Bisaccia, chief human resources officer of CVS Health, said in a statement. "However, we're estimating a much greater need for trained pharmacy technicians this year given the continued presence of COVID-19 in our communities".

UAE wants to exchange embassies with Israel 'as soon as possible'
Netanyahu expressed his gratitude to the American side for its contribution and for making " a glorious day of peace " possible. The UAE was the first major Arab state to recognize Israel since the Israel-Jordan Peace Treaty was signed in October 1994.

The company aims to provide around approximately 5 million COVID-19 tests per month, it added, and is now offering tests at almost 4,000 drive-thru pharmacies. In this function, they are critical in helping to suppress the spread and expand access to care, particularly in underserved neighborhoods.

In addition, CVS is recruiting customer service representatives for its Caremark and specialty pharmacy business lines as work-from-home positions across a number of markets, with the goal of making jobs available to people looking to return to work amid the pandemic. These jobs start at 30 hours per week and offer flexible schedules.

The current hirings are incremental to the company's recruiting efforts announced in March.

Opportunities for full-time colleagues include competitive pay, paid training and a generous advantages package.

Candidates can try the job out online before they apply.
