The latest info comes from Jon Prosser, who had a somewhat spotty track records for rumours earlier in the year but has been more accurate recently with a number of correct predictions about Apple's recent iPhone 12 event.

Back in June, Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook had announced the company's departure from the Intel chips that now power all of its Mac machines to its proprietary processor Apple Silicon in a bid to provide a more powerful and energy-efficient system that operates more like Apple's mobile devices (iPhone, iPod and iPad).

Without citing sources, Prosser on Thursday said the upcoming special event will concentrate on "ARM Mac" devices, more commonly known as Apple silicon Macs. Prosser says the event will be announced November 10. In addition, reputed Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had predicted earlier this year that Apple will refresh the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro by the end of the year.

This is not the first time we're hearing about Apple's alleged plans to host a new event. He also claimed that it will focus on the Apple Silicon Macs, which were first announced in June at WWDC.
