Yes, the brash, big brute that was so long synonymous with petrolhead excess (with apologies to the Cadillac Escalade) today became emblematic of high-minded, zero-emission motoring.

The driver amenities present are as myriad as they are resplendent.

GMC is billing the HUMMER EV as "The World's First All-Electric Supertruck", but Tesla's Texas-built Cybertruck could beat it to market at a starting price of $49,990 for a dual motor truck with 300 miles of range and a tri-motor model with 500 miles of range for $69,990. Pricing will start at US$112,595 for the first up "Edition 1", with prices to drop over the subsequent years, reaching $80,000 for a 2024 model. According to GMC, it can add an extra 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes. As to full-charge range, GM estimates 560-plus kilometres. It will launch with a fully-loaded Edition 1 model priced at $112,595 that has all-wheel-drive, three electric motors good for a combined 1,000 hp and the ability to accelerate to 60 miles per hour in around three seconds.

The Hummer will also offer something called Crab Mode, where the where the front and rear wheels rotate at the same tilt angle so that the vehicle moves diagonally - you know, like a crab. Off-roaders will love that. The Drive Mode Control allows you to dial in torque splits between the front and rear wheels, Terrain Mode raises the ride height by over five centimetres using the adaptive air suspension, and Extract Mode enables the suspension height to be raised over 15 centimetres for extreme off-road situations.

Samsung's next Galaxy S flagships could come as early as January 2021
OnLeaks corroborates that the Galaxy S21 series will indeed launch in January 2021, arriving earlier than the Galaxy S20 series. The exact goal of each lens isn't yet known, but rumors claim the S21 Ultra might have two telephoto or periscope lenses.

The standard Infinity Roof features removable transparent panels that stow in the frunk storage compartment, providing an open-air driving experience.

Given its off-road intentions, it's little surprise the truck comes standard with 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler All Territory MT tires.

The Hummer EV offers a giant 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, along with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The model also has a six-position MultiPro Tailgate and a short bed with a powered tonneau cover.

The Hummer EV is expected to go into production at GMC's Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant next fall.

The Hummer EV will be available as a pickup truck and SUV, though it's unclear if both will be shown on Tuesday.
