Dana White's "either take it or Leave it" approach saw a positive output as Conor McGregor accepts the proposed January 23, 2021 date to fight Dustin Poirier.

However, he also said that he wants the fight to happen at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the Dallas Cowboys.

Now, despite demanding the fight to be in 2020, McGregor has agreed to the fight with Poirier and wants it to be in Texas with fans.

White confirmed that he is willing to create a new date at the beginning of next year to give enough time for McGregor and Poirier to properly promote what would be a pay-per-view hit. "We got him his own date", White told ESPN. We have everything laid out for this year, with world champions fighting for titles. He's been offered Dustin Poirier on January 23. "We laid out this year".

Though him entering the Octagon again might send thrills and chills all around, but apparently his major objective is to get back in the boxing arena to fight Manny Pacquiao. Through this insane pandemic year we're going through, we faced a lot of challenges. "Not just financially, but my outlook on life, the respect I have, and a lot of things". We actually made a date for him, a date that we didn't have.

"I haven't been offered anything", explained Poirier. We have our schedule laid out.

"I'm ready for Nov 21st, given that cards recent injury issues, as well as any of the December dates, the 12th and the 19th".

It is now unknown why McGregor wants to fight before the end of 2020, but a slated boxing match with Manny Pacquiao will be weighing on his mind. Fighters have committed to it. Fighters have started training for these fights.

"I would never count another man's money, I hope Chandler makes a ton of money in the UFC, but the fact I've been in the UFC for 10 years. and the guy's going to come in here and make more money than me, I understand it's business, but if you want me to fight that guy, you have to step it up", Poirier said.

McGregor previously defeated Poirier via TKO back in 2014 at UFC 178.

White has set a deadline for McGregor vs. Poirier II to get signed but he is awaiting an update on the possibility of having fans present before confirming a location, with Las Vegas now the most likely.
