After one season of playing overseas, Ball officially declared for the 2020 NBA Draft and is entering as one of the rookie class' most intriguing prospects.

"I am really excited to be joining the Puma family", said LaMelo. "I don't want to give too much away, but big things are coming". Adam Petrick, Global Director of Brand and Marketing at PUMA said, "We are thrilled to add him to our roster of talented athletes and at just 19 years old, we can't wait to see his impact on the broader culture surrounding basketball".

As a result, LaMelo became the second Ball to distance himself from the family business, Big Baller Brand. The NBA draft is scheduled to take place on November 18, five months later than usual due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

At just 19 years old, Ball is redefining the next generation of basketball through his electrifying playing style and his personal style. The youngest Ball, LaMelo, had a signature shoe with BBB when he was 16. His older brother, New Orleans Pelicans guard Lonzo Ball, who recently switched representation to Klutch Sports, has also opted to move on and is now a sneaker free agent.

This followed a series of meetings between Mthethwa and crisis-hit CSA to try and resolve issues at the embattled organisation. They simply labelled it as a one-sided report.

Ball had previously been reported to be finalizing a deal with Puma back in August.

As Puma continues its push into basketball after relaunching its hoops category in 2018 after a almost 20-year hiatus, Ball will join a growing list of Puma endorsers in the NBA. He is the latest get for a company that has been aggressive trying to take a chunk of the basketball market in recent years.

The last time we left LaVar Ball, Big Baller Brand was becoming alive once again in February after a time frame in which the organization's site wasn't even operational, also a "F" from the Better Business Bureau and a supposed seven-figure theft by Ball's colleague.

The point guard is expected to be among the top three picks in this year's National Basketball Association draft.
