A full "Strawberry Moon" is set to rise over Vancouver tonight

The Strawberry Moon was officially 100% full at 3:12 p.m. EDT on Friday, but it will appear full as it rises on Friday evening until it sets early on Saturday.

For observers in Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia, however, the moon will appear ever-so-slightly darker than normal as it passes through the outer edge of Earth's shadow (the penumbra).

When to check: Since it is a penumbral lunar eclipse, after some time, the Strawberry Moon is likely to be faint and make it hard for people to see, the IE report said. The Lunar Eclipse 2020 is likely to last till the early hours of June 6.

Though North America will miss the eclipse, the Virtual Telescope Project will live stream the lunar event from above the Rome skyline on its website. This makes it the first full moon of summer, which began on June 1. "The name comes from the relatively short season for harvesting strawberries in the north-eastern United States". That is because of the June marriage custom, or because the Honey Moon is considered the year's "sweetest" moon, NASA explained.

NCB searches comedian Bharti Singh’s house, recovers cannabis
According to sources, a raid was conducted at another location late Friday night and an alleged drug peddler was arrested. The anti-narcotic agency recovered a "small quantity of cannabis" during their raid at the couple's Mumbai residence.

On Friday, people across most parts of the world will be able to witness a "Strawberry Moon". No special equipment is required as it is safe to gaze at the moon with our bare eyes.

If you're wondering when the best time is to see the Strawberry Moon in your town, you can use this tool from the Farmer's Almanac. In October, the Moon will appear in its fullest form twice, as per Space.com. The reason for this is that its central one - the June 20 annular eclipse - is very central, very close to the season's theoretical midst.

Sometimes. But Strawberry Moons are not necessarily red or pink in color just because they occur in June. It will encompass the months of November and December.
