The Celtics are trading Kanter to the Portland Trail Blazers as part of a three-team deal with the Memphis Grizzlies, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Celtics will reportedly receive a future draft pick from the Grizzlies, while Memphis gets Mario Hezonja and the draft rights to Desmond Bane - the No. 30 pick in Wednesday's draft. He signed a two-year deal with the Celtics last offseason.

Kanter picked up his $5 million option for the upcoming season on Thursday.

Kanter tweeted "home sweet home" with red and black hearts, the Portland Trailblazers colors, in reaction to the news.

The source said Mr Barnier and Lord Frost are not yet ready to call in political leaders to broker a final compromise. Barnier will now self-quarantine for ten days in line with Belgian law following the team member's test result.

The Portland Trail Blazers are bringing back a brief blast from their recent past.

Kanter's role in Boston was never as significant as it was in Portland or with the New York Knicks prior to his arrival and he found himself part of a platoon at the position.

That dichotomy of usefulness against traditional bigs and liability against athletic teams was most evident in this past season's playoffs when Kanter more than held his own against Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid but then barely played against the Toronto Raptors. After arriving in OR as a buyout season addition, the now-28-year-old averaged 13.1 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. In 2019-20 with the Celtics, the 28-year-old averaged 8.1 points and 7.4 rebounds.
