Pep Guardiola has ended speculation over his Manchester City future by signing a new two-year contract extension on Thursday.

And you ask me my opinion, as a person who has huge gratitude for what Barcelona has done for me in the academy as a football player and, after, a manager who gave me absolutely everything, what I want is he finishes his career there, Guardiola said.

"Since then we have achieved a great deal together, scored goals, won games and trophies, and we are all very proud of that success".

Guardiola's new deal means he is set to be in charge at City for longer than the four years he spent at the helm of Barcelona, and he credited chairman Khaldoon Mubarak with convincing him to remain at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola distanced himself on Friday from suggestions that his decision to extend his contract at Manchester City was linked to the possibility of Lionel Messi moving to the club next year.

Guardiola and Klopp have become two of the best foreign managers to have worked in England, taking their respective clubs up a significant gear and playing superb football along the way. But he finishes this year the contract and I don't know what's going to happen in his mind. And this week Messi spoke of his frustration at the club, claiming he is exhausted at being seen as a problem for Barca.

However, he feels there is still more to be achieved, with City having failed to get past the quarter-finals of the Champions League during his tenure.

What are the side effects of the Moderna and Pfizer COVID vaccines?
Distribution of a Pfizer-BioNTech shot is complicated by the need to store it at ultra-cold temperatures of -70 degrees Celsius. The most common adverse event rated as "severe" in the trial was fatigue, in 3.7 percent of participants after the second dose.

"I didn't think about anywhere else, just to stay here", he said.

"I said when I signed the contract, we have many things to do". It is a product of the mutual trust and respect that exists between him and the entire club.

"Importantly, it is a validation of the football structure and philosophy that has been built over more than a decade and to which he has contributed so much".

"I would like as a Barcelona fan for Leo to finish there".

"I would like to stay with the club, so it's easy". If we had felt it was enough, I would have taken a break. "But when you want to stay, it's not so hard".

City, who travel to Tottenham on Saturday, are now languishing in 10th place, six points behind leaders Leicester with a game in hand.
