Nova Scotia reports 10 new cases of COVID-19 Sunday

It's not clear whether the new cases are related to previously reported ones.

New Brunswick is the third province to reinstate the 14-day isolation for travellers from within Atlantic Canada.

A news release said the case had just been confirmed.

The county restrictions will also impose mandatory two-week quarantines for anyone traveling more than 150 miles from home. James Williams, counsel for Santa Clara County, made it clear in a news briefing that nobody is exempt from the new rules.

The province announced five new exposure sites Saturday, including businesses in Sydney and Truro. There were 132 locations on the list as of Thursday evening.

New restrictions came into effect Thursday in most of the Halifax Regional Municipality and parts of Hants County. Museums, libraries, and fitness and recreational facilities are also closed.

Over the past two months, Nova Scotia has had 153 positive COVID-19 cases, and 36,384 negative test results.

There is no one in hospital due to COVID-19.

Volunteer duties include asking screening questions, processing results, and administering the actual COVID-19 test.

Residents of New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador are not required to self-isolate when travelling to Nova Scotia, but they must be prepared to provide proof of their place of residency at provincial borders.

Meanwhile, the province reported 10 new positive tests, all in the central zone, on Sunday.

People can also call 811 if they can't access the website or if they wish to speak to a nurse.

"You don't get that in the big box stores or grocery stores, you don't get it anywhere else but in the restaurants and it's great information for public health to have because they can track people very quickly". The swish and gargle COVID-19 test is available at all centres for children aged four to 18.
