Portland Trail Blazers forward Rodney Hood is declining his $6 million player option for the 2020-2021 National Basketball Association season and becoming a free agent, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Blazers are sending Houston the 16th pick in Wednesday's National Basketball Association draft and another future first-round pick, sources said.

The deal can not be completed until after the 2020 NBA Draft as teams are not able to trade their future first-round picks in back-to-back drafts, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks.

Houston acquired Covington at the trade deadline from the Minnesota Timberwolves in which they sent out Clint Capela and their 2020 first round pick. Malik Beasley And forward Juan Hernangomas.

The deal is the largest for Nasdaq since it acquired Nordic exchange OMX in 2008 for $3.8 billion. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.

The 35 year-old veteran played 53 games last season with Portland, averaging 8 points and nearly 5 rebounds per contest, while shooting 43% from the field. Ariza missed the National Basketball Association restart in Orlando by committing instead to a one-month visitation window with his 12 year-old son.

The injury cut short a promising season in which Hood was averaging 11 points per game and shooting almost 50% from 3 in 21 games for the Blazers. He shot 49% from the floor, including 40% on 3-pointers.

Ariza opted out of participating in the NBA's Florida restart of the season, committing instead to a one-month visitation window with his young son.
