Not even dog walks allowed: This country has imposed world`s toughest lockdown

South Australian Premier Steven Marshall announces restrictions being eased in South Australia after a lie the discovery that a man misled contact tracers.

Mr Marshall said the man was one of the cases linked to the Woodville Pizza Bar, and told authorities he was a customer.

Home to almost 1.8 million people, South Australia recorded 25 cases from the most recent cluster, linked to a traveler returning from the United Kingdom.

The revelation came as the Parafield cluster in Adelaide's northern suburbs reached 25 infections, bringing the country's total infection number to 27,792, with 907 deaths reported since the start of the pandemic.

He added: "These selfish actions of this individual have put our whole state in a very hard situation".

'His actions have affected businesses, individuals, family groups and is completely and utterly unacceptable'.

"That clearly changes the circumstances and had this person been truthful to the contact tracing teams, we would not have gone into a 6-day lockdown", said Premier Steven Marshall.

Mr Stevens would not be drawn on the man's likely motivation for misleading contact tracers.

"The Emergency Management Act requires people to provide information on request", he said.

UK's Johnson stands by minister found to have bullied staff
Earlier this week the former head of the civil service Lord Sedwill told MPs the investigation was now "with" the prime minister. The inquiry was launched after Home Office chief Philip Rutnam, who is suing for constructive dismissal, resigned in February.

On Friday, it emerged that a COVID-19 positive person had lied to contract tracers, telling them he'd merely picked up a pizza at Adelaide's Woodville Pizza Bar rather than being honest about working several shifts behind the counter.

South Australia will revert to a series of similar restrictions imposed at the beginning of the week from midnight on Saturday.

Religious ceremonies will be restricted to 100 people, with private gatherings allowed 50 people.

Further restrictions will end on Saturday, allowing restaurants to welcome back up to 100 patrons at a time, while weddings can resume with up to 150 guests.

Gatherings at private residences will only be allowed to have 10 people present.

Masks will be mandatory for personal-care providers such as hairdressers and beauty therapists (and encouraged for clients).

There are two active coronavirus cases remaining across Victoria, according to figures released by the health department on Friday.

The state of South Australia implemented a "circuit breaker" lockdown in an attempt to quash a COVID-19 outbreak that grew to 22 infections this week in the state capital Adelaide.

When asked by reporters if the shop may need extra security because of public anger, Mr Stevens said: "There are all sorts of things we are considering at this point".
