Eclipse season resumes on June 5th, with a fine penumbral lunar eclipse.
After the "Strawberry Moon Lunar Eclipse" on June 5, the nature has another treat for the skygazers this month as an Annular Solar Eclipse will be taking place on June 21, which is also the longest day of the year, for nearly 6 hours.
Although moon-gazers in North America won't be able to witness the partial eclipse in person, they can still livestream the lunar event thanks to the Virtual Telescope Project, which will stream the view above Rome's skyline in Italy beginning at 3 p.m.
"The Moon will be close enough to opposite the Sun that it will pass through part of the partial shadow of the Earth, called a partial penumbral eclipse of the Moon", NASA said.
This shifting luminescence is called the Lunar Cycle, which lasts approximately 29.5 days from one New Moon to the next. It will be visible in part of Europe, most of Asia, Australia, Africa, and parts of South America.

A penumbral lunar eclipse happens when the Sun, Earth, and the Moon are imperfectly aligned. Since the Moon the farther, it looks like a dark disc on top of another bright disk, which appears like a ring of fire. "Looking at the sun is risky and can damage your eyes", it added. If we could see the Moon, the slight dimming during this eclipse will not be noticeable without instrumentation. Meanwhile, there are two more eclipses slated to take place by July.
Unfortunately, according to AccuWeather, that eclipse will end before the moon rises over the Americas. Due to this arrangement, the Earth blocks the sunlight from directly reaching the moon's surface thus forming a shadow, called the penumbra.
On 21 June there'll be an eclipse of the sun, the first solar eclipse this year.
Total Lunar Eclipse: In this phenomenon, the Moon passes through the Earth's umbral shadow.
For sure, Penumbrals aren't the most incredible eclipses to see, but in a time that sees many of us curtailing our travel plans astronomical and otherwise, we'll take whatever celestial action we can get.
