The two Republican legislators - hailing from a state that Mr Biden is projected to win by 154,000 votes - said they had focused during the discussion on Covid-19 assistance, not Mr Trump's efforts to overturn the election results.

The hand count showed Biden won by more than 12,000 votes out of about 5 million cast, according to data released by Raffensperger's office Thursday.

The Floyd County board met for about an hour on Thursday in a special session that ended with a vote to dismiss Floyd County Chief of Elections Clerk Robert Brady.

Following a by-hand recount, US President-elect Biden's narrow victory in Georgia was officially certified on Friday by the Republican official who oversaw the audit.

Alaska's conservative Senator Dan Sullivan told reporters Trump has "a high bar" to prove his claims the election has been stolen by Democrats.

Trump not only would need three state legislatures to intervene against vote counts as they stand now, but then also have those actions upheld by Congress and, nearly certainly, the US Supreme Court.

The day before Trump called Shirkey and Chatfield, he called the Republican members of the Wayne County Board of Canvassers; after the call, they attempted to rescind their certification of the county's votes.

Democrats and Republicans agreed that Brady should have been fired and that the uncounted ballots were a result of human error rather than a deliberate attempt to sabotage a free and fair election.

"The Michigan Senate commits to the selection of electors to the Electoral College that will be faithful to voting for the candidate with the most votes for President in Michigan as certified by Michigan election officials", the resolution read.

NCB searches comedian Bharti Singh’s house, recovers cannabis
According to sources, a raid was conducted at another location late Friday night and an alleged drug peddler was arrested. The anti-narcotic agency recovered a "small quantity of cannabis" during their raid at the couple's Mumbai residence.

Yet on Saturday morning, he also continued to claim that fraud would be unearthed in MI.

Democratic President-elect Joe Biden is preparing to take office on January 20, but Trump has refused to concede and is seeking to invalidate or reverse the results through lawsuits and recounts in a number of states, claiming - without proof - widespread voter fraud.

First, Trump posted the Shirkey/Chatfield statement with the caption "This is true, but much different than reported by the media".

While Georgia formally certified Biden as the victor on Friday after its Republican Secretary of State withstood pressure from Trump and his acolytes to invalidate a large number of ballots, GOP lawmakers in MI said after a meeting with the lame duck President that they had no information "that would change the outcome of the election" while pledging they will follow the law and the normal process of awarding the state's electors to the candidate who won the popular vote. We will show massive and unprecedented fraud!'

Their statement also included language saying fraud should be "taken seriously" and be prosecuted if uncovered.

Michigan Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey and Speaker of the House Lee Chatfield said they would be vigilant in making sure the process is fair but added they saw no evidence that was likely to give Trump a win in the state where Biden leads by more than 150,000 votes.

It came after they got hounded by protesters upon arriving in Washington.

Trump responded by firing the head of his agency, Chris Krebs.
