Apple Developers Now Able to Natively Run macOS Within AWS With Amazon EC2 Mac Instances

Amazon Web Services will provide software developers with access to macOS on-demand in the cloud for the first time, promising to speed up the process and reduce the cost of making software for Apple's computers and devices.

Developers building apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Safari can use the service to provision and access macOS environments, dynamically scale capacity with AWS, and take advantage of pay-as-you-go pricing, Amazon says. The instances run on Mac mini hardware with 8th generation Intel Core i7 processors, not the newer Mac mini hardware with Apple's M1 chips.

"Faced with unprecedented global demand this past year, we've been able to handle it in significant part by running the substantial majority of our cloud-based workloads on our preferred cloud provider, AWS, and relying on AWS's performance and scalability", Zoom chief executive Eric Yuan said. In addition, customers can consolidate development of cross-platform Apple, Windows, and Android apps using Amazon's cloud.

The video conferencing vendor will continue using AWS's global infrastructure and portfolio of services - including capabilities in compute, storage, content distribution, and security - to create a seamless, secure extension of its data centres.

Edinson Cavani Investigated By English FA Over Allegedly Racist Social Media Post
Last season, both Bernardo Silva and Dele Alli were suspended for a game each following racially offensive social media posts. The Uruguay striker responded to a post from a friend with " Gracias negrito ", which translates as, "Thanks, little black".

Amazon is entering an arena dominated by small companies like MacStadium and Mac Mini Vault.

Amazon has announced that it is now offering EC2 Mac instances, giving people who develop on Apple's platforms the chance to get everything into the cloud.

"We are also getting feedback from enterprise customers about the opportunity to move internal macOS development to the cloud", said David Brown, vice president of Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud division. And normally, you're paying for at least a month - or a longer period of time to get a discount.

"You can literally launch these machines in minutes and have a working machine available to you", said Brown.
