Black Panther was a major hit for Disney-owned Marvel Studios, grossing over $1.3 billion in worldwide gross and becoming the first superhero film to be nominated for the best picture at Oscars.

Black Panther stars the late Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Oscar winners Lupita Nyong'o and Forest Whitaker, Danai Gurira, Oscar nominees Daniel Kaluuya and Angela Bassett.

It didn't take long for the studio to confirm that it would not use a "digital double", explaining that "there's only one Chadwick and he's not with us". A SC native, he was already a star when he was cast in the role of T'Challa or Black Panther.

Shooting on Black Panther 2 is expected to begin in Atlanta in July and last for over six months.
