Fox News Flash top headlines are here.

The disfigured manatee was discovered in North Florida's Homosassa River on January 10, 2021, with "serious scarring in the form of the president's name". "The animal had the word "Trump" scraped into its back".

The Citrus County Chronicle reported that Florida officials are working with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service on the incident.

She said the manatee was asleep in shallow water at the time. "I was surprised when I saw it".

"It did seem that the animal was very upset", Warrington told the station. It is illegal to interfere with manatees under Florida state and federal laws, including harassing, harming, wounding, or annoying the sea cows. It is not uncommon to see hundreds of manatees swimming in Homosassa Springs and Crystal River.

Melania Trump breaks silence, says this about Donald Trump`s supporters
In the post on Monday, the first lady said, "This time is exclusively about healing our country and its citizens". He noted the timing of Trump's statement, "particularly when her husband is under so much pressure".

Because manatees are protected by the Endangered Species Act, it is a federal offense to harass the animal with fines up to $50,000 and/or one-year in prison.

A spokeswoman for the US Fish and Wildlife Service did not immediately return a request for comment.

Manatees were considered an endangered species until 2017 when that designation was lifted and downgraded to "threatened".

FWS is looking for any information that may assist with the case, and urged anyone with any information to contact the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation hotline at 888-404-3922.
