Chris Evans nears deal to return to MCU as Captain America

Deadline reports that Chris Evans is expected to reprise his role as Captain America in an upcoming MCU project, with "the door open for a second film".

Honestly, it's a little upsetting that Evans shut it down so quickly just because the speculation going around the internet was fun.

Chris had seemingly played Captain America for the last time after 11 movies in "Avengers: Endgame" and had previously revealed his excitement to have "freedom" to pursue other parts. He stated, "news to me" claiming that there haven't been any such talks.

But after educating Americans about politics, making cable-knit sweaters popular again in Knives Out, and an accidental nude photo leak on Instagram, it seems like Evans is ready for an unexpected return to the MCU. But don't expect it to be a Captain America 4 or anything. With Spider-Man 3, Black Panther 2, Captain Marvel 2 and Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 among the films set to be released over the next few years, it's possible Evans could reappear as Captain America in one of those.

FBI is tracking 'extensive' online chatter about armed protests
Pence thanked the FBI's aggressive posture on bringing to justice those who desecrated the seat of the democracy last week. In Ohio, the governor has ordered the statehouse and other government buildings to close until after the transition.

At this time, Marvel Studios has made no public comments about the reports.

Evans seemed to be enjoying the responses to his heartbreaking tweet, as he later tweeted: "Some of the gif responses are priceless good work, everyone" alongside laughing emojis.

It is reportedly more likely that, as Robert Downey Junior did as Ironman, Evans makes smaller appearances in other Marvel titles.

However, since the passing over of the Captain America shield, there's been speculation over whether or not Mackie's Sam Wilson will become the next Captain America. It looks like he has unfinished business, though, maybe with his friends Falcon and Winter Soldier, or during the Multiverse Madness brewing in Phase Four?
