BREAKING Latest Covid-19 figures for Limerick confirmed as incidence rate falls

A FURTHER 744 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Ireland, the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) has said this evening.

Six of the latest cases were epidemiologically linked, meaning in people who did not have a positive lab test result, but were diagnosed due to contact with a known case or outbreak.

It comes after new figures showed Coronavirus case rates have fallen across almost 95% of local authorities in the UK.

Since last Friday the county's incidence rate, which had been declining, has increased from 303.8 cases per 100,000 people, to 330.2.

Nationally, 33 more deaths from Covid-19 have been reported, two of these taking place in January, the remainder this month.
