According to a report from Politico, Republican strategists faced with the possibility of not having Donald Trump on the ticket - and reeling from having lost the suburbs in the 2020 election due to him - are trying to plot out ways to regain seats lost in the 2018 and 2020 elections. But, "Kevin McCarthy is not one of those". The former president allegedly intends to slam the current administration on immigration, energy, the closing/reopening of schools, and identity politics.

His ire has recently been focused on Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, the nation's most senior elected Republican. If Trump pursues this strategy, it will reduce the chances that the Republican Party can achieve a majority in the House. And as was the case on Friday, speakers stood not only behind former President Donald Trump but also some of his most inflammatory and false ideas.

Mr McConnell, who ultimately did not vote to convict in the January impeachment trial, was a crucial ally to Mr Trump during his presidency, helping him push through massive tax cuts, three Supreme Court justices and an ambitious number of judicial nominations that will alter federal courts for decades.

"And he has to apologize to that before he gets me back".

"In its 45 year history, CPAC has been honored to present prominent conservatives including Presidents of the United States, Vice Presidents, cabinet officials, Members of Congress, members of the judiciary, conservative thought leaders and foreign officials". On his first day in office, he signed an executive order mandating an "ambitious whole-of-government equity agenda" created to address concerns about systemic racism and a lack of diversity in federal policy-making and hiring.

Not on the list is Trump's former vice president, Mike Pence.

The program underscored the split raging within the GOP, as many establishment voices argue the party must move on from Trump to win back the suburban voters who abandoned them in November, putting President Joe Biden in the White House.

Trump was impeached on January 13 but acquitted one month later by the Senate. "Max Miller has my Complete and Total Endorsement!"

Mr Hawley, another possible 2024 candidate, called himself part of the future of the party.

Despite debate among some in the Republican Party over how much influence Trump should have, the former president's approval among rank-and-file Republicans remains strong. "The Republican Partyis actually in very good shape". He also has organized conference panels on election integrity to look into Trump's claims, without evidence, that illegal voting cost Trump the 2020 presidential election. "The speech will make clear he's best prepared to do that".

Irving, however, said he did not remember the discussion as a request, and flatly denied he had been concerned about appearances. Lawmakers spent considerable time questioning the security officials about delays in getting help from the National Guard.
