"But overall, too many Americans are suffering frustration, taking up way too much time to schedule an appointment", Zients said.

"But his first priority is ensuring vaccines are in the arms of Americans", White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said on February 12.

"Security cooperation remains essential if we wish to address drug abuse, corruption and organized crime which impact both nations", Andrew Rudman, a Mexico specialist at the Wilson Center think tank, said ahead of the meeting.

Their meeting comes as reports say the United States faces a new surge of undocumented migrants attempting to enter the country from its southern neighbor, as Biden eases the tough anti-immigration regime of predecessor Donald Trump.

Biden and Lopez Obrador have agreed to work together on immigration, Covid-19 and commercial issues.

Biden has predicted the United States will have enough supply by late July to inoculate all Americans.

Mexico has been frustrated by bottlenecks in vaccine supply and raised concerns that wealthy countries are hoarding them.

"No, the President [Joe Biden] made clear that he is focused on ensuring vaccines are accessible to every American", Psaki told reporters in response to a question about Lopez Obrador's expected request.

House to vote on virus bill; arbiter says wage hike a no-go

According to Reuters reporting, Mexico would aim to pay back Washington once pharmaceutical companies have delivered on their orders.

Reuters at the weekend reported Lopez Obrador is expected to ask Biden to consider sharing part of the USA vaccine supply, with Mexico aiming to pay back Washington once pharmaceutical companies have delivered on their orders. "We must be respectful".

Biden and Lopez Obrador last spoke by phone on January 23, primarily about migration and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lopez Obrador estimated Saturday that the USA economy would need 600,000 to 800,000 migrant workers a year.

Lopez Obrador, known as AMLO, also said he will push to include Mexican professionals in a guest-worker program he plans to propose to Biden.

The two leaders could also discuss Lopez Obrador's efforts to strengthen a state-run electricity utility, the Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE).

Business groups have condemned the bill, saying it risks violating the USMCA and endangers Mexico's renewable energy targets because it puts wind and solar generators at a disadvantage against the CFE, a heavy user of fossil fuels.
