CDC may soon update outdoor face mask wearing guidance

Here's what you can do once you've been vaccinated

Here's what you can do once you've been vaccinated

Dr. Anthony Fauci, Biden's chief medical officer, hinted Sunday that updated guidance was on the way.

"The risk when you're outdoors - which we have been saying all along - is extremely low".

On buses used for transportation, the CDC guidance said protocols to keep physical distance between campers should be put into place, such as seating children one-per-row. But as an increasing number of people in the USA are getting vaccinated against COVID-more than half of adults now have at least one shot-many of us are hoping we'll be able to go mask-free soon.

Although the specifics of the announcement are unclear, the president's words will include an update on whether vaccinated people still need to wear masks outdoors.

For that reason, the guidance says that camps must continue prevention measures such as mask-wearing and physical distancing even after employees have been fully vaccinated.

"What I believe you're going to be hearing, what the country is going to be hearing soon is updated guidelines from the CDC". "The CDC is a science-based organization", he said on ABC's This Week With George Stephanopoulos. "They don't want to make any guidelines unless they look at the data, and the data backs it up", he said. "Additionally, check whether any federal mask mandates apply to where you will be going".

California recall against governor has enough signatures to make ballot
If enough do - a very, very long shot - the question will not make the ballot. Newsom is not allowed to appear on the list of replacement candidates.

"Obviously the risk is really very low, particularly if you're vaccinated" and participating in outdoor activities.

"To decrease the risk of getting and spreading COVID-19, CDC recommends that campers do not engage in close-contact sports", the guidance says.

At the onset of the pandemic in March 2020, Dr. Fauci said, "There's no reason to be walking around with a mask", adding that while mask-wearing may "make people feel a little bit better and it might even block a's not providing the ideal protection that people think that it is".

The highly-anticipated guidance emphasizes conducting as many activities as possible outdoors, where the virus has been found to be less likely to spread, and suggests spaces should be well-ventilated with windows kept open.

We've been advised to wear masks for more than a year now.

The CDC said that camps should establish and implement strategies to promote physical distancing, both indoors and outdoors, of "at least three feet" between all campers in a cohort. Vaccinated folks can take off their masks when gathering with fully vaccinated groups indoors, but the agency has yet to address outdoor mask-wearing. "You could be separated by a fair amount. Cohorting should not replace other prevention measures, including wearing masks". Swim around, have fun.
