One US family's gender reveal party was such a blast that it rattled towns, set off reports of an natural disaster, and could be heard from across the state line, police said. An unnamed family had used the boom as a dramatic way to reveal the gender of their expected child, said local police, who viewed footage of the incident.

A family is accused of using explosives at a New England quarry to announce the sex of their baby, rocking several towns from New Hampshire all the way down to MA in the process, according to news outlets.

NBC 10 Boston reports that residents in several neighboring towns could hear the explosion and some though it was an quake.

"Obviously, depending on the amount [of explosives] they were using, it could be extremely risky", Kingston Police Chief Donald Briggs Jr. told the New Hampshire Union Leader, noting that charges could result from the incident.

Residents several towns away said their houses were shaking from the explosion.

Biden announces 200 million vaccine dose goal being met early
But COVID-19 is still killing hundreds of Americans daily and many Americans have shown a reluctance to get vaccinated. Biden came into office on 20 January initially vowing to get 100 million shots administered in his first 100 days.

Authorities believe Tannerite explosives were used legally and that the people who set off the blast had permission to be on the property, according to the news outlet.

"We heard this god-awful blast", Sara Taglieri, who lives in a home that abuts the quarry, told the television station. "I'm all up for silliness and whatnot, but that was extreme".

Taglieri's husband, Matt, told the TV station that neighbours reported cracks in the foundation of their homes from the explosion.

"While Chauvin was never charged locally, "Two months ago, federal prosecutors in Minneapolis brought witnesses before a federal grand jury to provide testimony related to the incident", ABC is reporting before adding, ". this week, a source informed of the probe told ABC News that the investigation is still underway, with the Justice Department still weighing whether to bring federal charges against Chauvin for both the 2017 incident and George Floyd's death".

According to the Kingston police, investigators are looking into possible property damage. However, NBC Boston's meteorologists confirmed there were no earthquakes reported around the time of the explosion. Four people have died in the past year at gender reveal parties.
