Following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's announcement that fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear face coverings in most indoor locations, Harmons said it will drop the requirement at all of its locations.

"Tiered staff and players who are not fully vaccinated (i.e. have not received any vaccine, or are within the 14-day period after receipt of the last does of the vaccine) must continue to wear masks indoors and outdoors at the club facility as required in the October 16, 2020 Club Facility Protocol unless and until they are fully vaccinated".

Vaccinated people will be required to wear masks in some settings, such as planes, trains and buses and inside airports, bus and train stations.

"It's important to note that all guests two years of age and older who are not fully vaccinated must wear face coverings during their visit, except while eating or drinking", the statement said.

Employees and customers that are fully vaccinated won't have to wear masks at Trader Joe's, Walmart, or Costco.

Elsewhere, the announcement didn't mean much because many states and cities already had dropped mask requirements in recent weeks amid improving virus numbers. "That will remain their choice".

Previously, Lujan Grisham had said New Mexico's requirements for face-mask wearing and social distancing would remain in place, even as the state eased business restrictions and allowed for more tourism-related activities.

DUP leadership election result: Edwin Poots appointed First Minister
Poots insists he must focus on strengthening his party's public appeal ahead of Assembly elections scheduled for May 2022. Mr Poots will be leader designate until Mrs Foster formally stands down.

"We're creating a situation where private companies or individuals are responsible for their business and find (ing) out if people are vaccinated - if they're even going to be enforcing that", said Rachael Piltch-Loeb, associate research scientist at New York University School of Global Public Health and a preparedness fellow at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

"We are now reevaluating our position on masks given the CDC's new guidance". Doctors' offices, hospitals, nursing homes and homeless shelters will also continue to require masks. And Hawaii Gov. David Ige said: "We are unable to determine who is vaccinated and who is not vaccinated. But that all depends on New Mexicans continuing to protect themselves and their community by getting vaccinated".

The agency said its decision to update its indoor masking guidelines for fully vaccinated people stems from the steady decline of coronavirus cases and hospitalizations, and the promising data that demonstrates the COVID-19 vaccines' effectiveness in real-world studies.

Why lift the mask mandate now?

New Mexico has one of the nation's highest COVID-19 vaccine administration rates.

'But we know that the more people are vaccinated, the less cases we will have and the less chance of a new spike or additional variant emerging'.
