Authorities responded to the Oneida Casino after receiving reports of an active shooter Saturday evening.

The Oneida Nation saying that the main casino is being secured by law enforcement following the shooting.

Kevin Pawlak said investigators believe the gunman was seeking a specific person he was angry at.

"He was targeting a specific victim who was not there, but he made a decision to still shoot some of the victim's friends or co-workers, it appears", Pawlak said.

The FBI were at the scene assisting with the investigation.

The wounded person was being treated at a Milwaukee hospital, Lt Pawlak said.

The casino tweeted earlier that it was contending with "an active shooter situation" and that several law enforcement agencies were at the scene. This story was updated to remove the word "mass" shooting since more information was made available to reflect a smaller amount of people shot.

Police cleared rooms in the hotel, just to be safe, after the gunfire broke out, Danforth said, adding: "Crowd control is an issue for us because people are trying to see what's happening".

Deputy who shot Black man appears to mistake phone for gun
The incident took place outside Brown's family's home in Spotsylvania County, Virginia on early Wednesday morning. Haynes, an attorney for Brown's family, said Brown was unarmed and had only a cordless house phone in his hand.

Officials said the situation was contained and that there was no longer a threat to the community.

"We do not know where the individual was shooting, or [where] individuals were shot", Webster said.

Jawad Yatim, a witness, told the Associated Press that the gunman "was shooting pretty aggressively in the building, so I wouldn't doubt him hitting other people".

"All of a sudden we hear a massive flurry of gunshots - 20 to 30 gunshots for sure", Westphal told WBAY-TV. It was honestly insane'.

The casino is located on the Oneida Reservation of the Oneida Nation, which runs the casino.

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers tweeted: "Kathy and I were devastated to hear about the shooting at the Oneida Casino complex tonight".
