Missouri has recorded a total of 519,267 COVID-19 cases including 9,230 deaths since the pandemic began. The province also reported the deaths of a man in 50s and a woman in her 60s from Winnipeg and a man in his 70s from Southern Heath.

Health officials also announced 74 new cases of COVID-19, pushing Manitoba's total to 55,405. This shows an increase of 6.1% compared to the previous 7 days.

The five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate has gone from 7.2 per cent in Winnipeg on Sunday to 6.9 on Monday. Since last Friday, the test positivity rate has fallen 2.6% provincially and 3.8% in Winnipeg.

Of the new cases, 42 were from Winnipeg, 24 from Southern, 14 from Interlake-Eastern, eight from Northern and five from Prairie Mountain.

Manitoba now has 2,075 active cases and 52,205 people have recovered.

Dr. Brent Roussin, the chief provincial public health officer, said even though case numbers are lowering and more Manitobans are getting vaccinated, COVID will still have an impact of the health-care system.

"It will be up to Manitobans to take the steps to protect each other". Two hundred and fifty Manitobans are now hospitalized with COVID-19 in Manitoba and neighbouring provinces, including 57 ICU patients in Manitoba and 17 receiving intensive care in Ontario and Alberta. Of those, 58 are in Manitoba ICUs, while 14 are in Ontario and one is in Alberta. Thirty-two patients previously receiving care in an out-of-province ICU have now been returned to Manitoba hospitals for further care while no COVID-19 patients were transported out of province for care Saturday.

The US Open Final: Who Will Make it?
The 34-year-old Swiss won the first two sets 6-4 and 7-5, forcing an injured and struggling Djokovic to retire in the third. If she’s at her best, then she’ll make it to the final and if she performs on the day the title will be hers.

There were 1,149,112 tests reported on 20 June 2021.

Roussin also addressed where COVID-19 is now transmitting in Manitoba, noting workplaces in the province are the cause for many cases.

There are several counties that are experiencing a rise in cases, said Lisa Cox, spokeswoman for the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.

"When you start to talk about proportion related to transmission, that proportion will no doubt go up whenever you have significant restrictions in place".

But the percentage of second doses is expected to slow down due to a shortage in shipments of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine - the only one approved for the 12-17 age group.

Vaccines are now given in 2 doses, at least 21 days apart.
