Ontario reports 663 new COVID-19 cases Sunday, 10 additional deaths

Single-day rise of 1,14,460 cases pushed India's Covid-19 tally to 2,88,09,339; Death toll surged to 3,46,759 with 2,677 fatalities in the last 24 hours, as per Health Ministry data.

There are 115 new cases in Toronto, 112 in Peel, 59 in Niagara, 47 in York Region, 40 in Ottawa, 33 in Hamilton, and 31 in Halton.

Ontario is reporting 663 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, the fewest number of new infections since last October.

India's active caseload decreased by 77,449 in the last 24 hours and has now dropped to 14,77,799.

India's daily new COVD-19 cases reported a sharp decline on Saturday as the country recorded 11,835 less cases as compared to Friday. The daily positivity rate further dipped to 5.78 per cent, less than 10 per cent for the 12th consecutive day, the ministry said. The weekly positivity rate now stands at 6.89% while the daily positivity rate further diped to 5.78%, less than 10% for 12 consecutive days.

Ontario says 158,393 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine were administered since Saturday's report for a total of almost 10 million doses.
