He will then fly to Geneva to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The lawns and villa are fringed by tall trees including cedars that are more than 200 years old - offering a relatively discreet and lush venue for the meeting of the two leaders at the end of Biden's first overseas diplomatic trip since becoming president in January. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said the G7 leaders would announce a new initiative to "provide financing for physical, digital and health infrastructure" in the developing world - an alternative to China's Belt and Road initiative. "I've been clear: the United States will respond in a robust and meaningful way if the Russian government engages in harmful activities".

He arrived at RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk on Wednesday evening, ahead of the G7 Summit which starts on Friday at Carbis Bay, Cornwall.

Overall, trust in the US dipped to historic lows under Trump, even among close allies such as Britain and Japan, according to Pew. Biden is embarking on the first overseas trip of his term, and is eager to reassert the United States on the world stage, steadying European allies deeply shaken by his predecessor and pushing democracy as the only bulwark to the rising forces of authoritarianism.

"We're not seeking conflict with Russian Federation", he said at RAF Mildenhall.

'More than half in most of the publics surveyed say the USA does not take their interests into account when it is making foreign policy decisions, although fewer feel this way in Japan, Greece and Germany'.

12 countries registered big increases in US favorability since Biden replaced Trump.

Before he meets Putin in Geneva next week, Biden is holding consultations with European leaders at the G7 in Cornwall and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit in Brussels.

In Geneva on Wednesday, Biden is meeting with Swiss Confederation President Guy Parmelin before his potentially contentious sit-down with Putin - the first time the two leaders have met face-to-face since Biden became president.

At the G-7 summit, the White House said Biden "will reinforce our commitment to multilateralism, work to advance key US policy priorities on public health, economic recovery and inclusive growth, and demonstrate solidarity and shared values among major democracies".

For weeks, the White House has painted the meeting as a chance for Biden to issue stern warnings to Putin on a number of matters.

Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Sputnik on 9 June that Vladimir Putin is ready for any format of communication with reporters after his upcoming summit with Biden.

That list includes recent ransomware attacks on companies that provide gasoline and meat products to millions in the United States, Moscow's aggression in Ukraine and across Eastern Europe, and its disinformation campaign in many countries - including the US, with its 2016 election meddling.

In a television interview, Biden also said he considered Putin to be a "killer", a claim Putin quickly turned against the U.S.by citing its slaughter of Native Americans in the 18th century settlement of the country, and deadly abuse of minorities throughout its history.
